General Information

Who are we?

The Australian Army Cadet Corps provides young Australians with the opportunity to learn, develop and practice many interesting, fun and valuable skills - especially leadership. It is the only government sponsored youth group in Australia.

Basic Training

As part of your cadet training you will receive instruction in fieldcraft, radio communications, weapons safety & handling, first aid, survival, roping, drill, field navigation, small unit fieldcraft exercises as well as leadership & initiative training.

Camps

Probably the most thrilling aspect of our annual training program is the camps (bivouacs) we run on weekends and during school holidays. You'll have the time of your life "out bush" with your friends, and you'll put all your hard won skills and training to the ultimate test.

Adventure Training

A very exciting part of your cadet calendar will be undertaking voluntary adventure training. Tackle challenging adventure training such as roping and rappelling, boating and canoeing, small unit tactics, powered motor boating skills, parachuting, live fire exercises and firearms safety ... to name a few.

Promotion

After successful completion of your maroon beret then intermediate and advanced cadet training, interested cadets will be invited to enrol in cadet promotion courses. The sky is the limit - how high do you want to go?
